Mozilla Thunberbird is a full-featured email application that has everything you need to manage your emails and news feeds.
It supports, just like Firefox does, the installation of plugins, dictionaries and themes which makes it even better. Here is a list of its features.
The only thing missing is that the layout similar to Microsoft Outlook using three vertical panes doesn’t display well the mail information, when that layout in Outlook is awesome. Hopefully, some extension will enhance this view in the future.

PDF-XChange Viewer is a freeware PDF viewer that is fast and has plenty of options for a freeware alternative to Adobe Reader.
I think this is better than Foxit Reader in many ways. I have found some files that Foxit can’t render properly but PDF-XChange Viewer shows them well.
Fortunately for us, Adobe started to slim down its own Adobe Reader for speed and resource usage. The latest versions are great, but if you want an alternative, PDF-XChange Viewer is the best I have found so far.
FastStone Image Viewer is a freeware image viewer with plenty of options and features.
It’s fast and uses few resources. You can download a portable version.
For a more complete image viewer, try XnView, which is also free.
With TreeSize Free you can scan your hard drives to see which files or folders are taking the most space.
The size information is neatly grouped and you can navigate or open folders of subfolders after the scan completes.
You can download a portable version if you like.
USB Disk Ejector is a little program that replaces the standard Windows dialog for ejecting USB devices.
The real use (as Windows remove dialog is more than enough) for this program is that it accepts command line parameters, so you can use it on your pen drives or USB sticks.
If you use launch menus, such as PStart or PortableApps.com menu you can copy disk ejector to your drive and make a shortcut in the launcher you use with the command line parameter /REMOVETHIS. This will remove the device the application is running from.
You can read more about its parameters and other features here.
