Here is a small update the popular Linux distribution Ubuntu.
I didn’t find any release notes about Ubuntu 8.04.1 but they will update them soon.
People that already has it running can update it within Ubuntu itself. This download is for users that want to try it as it comes as a disc image, of for those that always download new disc images to store them in case they need them.

While Mozilla released Firefox 3.0 a week ago, they just updated version 2.x to 2.0.0.15 to include some security updates.
This is great for people that still prefer 2.0 over the new version, or for those that are still waiting for their favorite extensions to support Firefox 3.0.

Today Mozilla released the final version of Firefox 3.0.
I was trying to get access to their ftp’s but all of them were full of users downloading it. It was until some minutes ago that i noticed they changed their site to reflect their new release. They changed graphics and other stuff on the homepage.
Now, everyone can access the download links and also read all about the new features, which too many to talk about them here.
The most promising features are what they call the Awesome Bar and the memory management and performance issues that were present since 1.x versions.
Update: PortableApps.com has already released the portable version of Firefox 3.0. Get it here.
Important: Before you upgrade to this new version, make sure you know all the extensions you use because you will need to install them later. It could be helpful to write them down if you have too many.
