ImgBurn is a lightweight CD / DVD / HD DVD / Blu-ray burning application.

This new versions has several bug fixes and the list is too long to post it here.

I use it for burning disc images and sometimes i build some with it.

It has several modes, each one for performing a different task:

• Read - Read a disc to an image file.
• Build - Create an image file from files on your computer or network - or you can write the files directly to a disc.
• Write - Write an image file to a disc.
• Verify - Check a disc is 100% readable. Optionally, you can also have ImgBurn compare it against a given image file to ensure the actual data is correct.

Filezilla authors have been busy the last couple of weeks because they have released two or three new versions.

The good thing is that they are fixing existing bugs fast in this open source FTP client.

Filezilla 3.1.0 latest changes:

• Fix oddities in visual formatting of IPv6 addresses
• MSW: Enable IPv6 support on SFTP connections
• Connecting using an IPv6 address did not work on SFTP
• Editing remote files did not pick up local changes if timestamp preserving was enabled

Sysinternals has updated Autoruns to version 9.31.

This is an excellent tool for disabling startup programs and to see all the things that Windows loads when it starts up.

PhotoScape is by far the most feature-rich free application when it comes to doing work with images, except for Paint.NET which is a professional-grade free editor.

The interface can be better because it feels a little disorganized but in the end, it is a great program for working with images.

Being free adds more value to it.

USB Disk Ejector is a little program that replaces the standard Windows dialog for ejecting USB devices.

The real use (as Windows remove dialog is more than enough) for this program is that it accepts command line parameters, so you can use it on your pen drives or USB sticks.

If you use launch menus, such as PStart or PortableApps.com menu you can copy disk ejector to your drive and make a shortcut in the launcher you use with the command line parameter /REMOVETHIS. This will remove the device the application is running from.
