I just uploaded Launch 1.2.

This release has a list of switches in the parameters box and the code has been optimized.

All the changes are in the version history.

The replacement for VistaTweaker is in the works.

It will have support for Windows 7 and Windows Vista tweaks. The planned release is in about two weeks at the most. If i can get it to run properly on many systems, it won’t have the Beta in it’s name on the day of release.

I’m also exploring Windows 7 for tweaks. If any of you have some Windows 7-only tweaks and want them to be implemented, feel free to send them to me. I will review them and if I have enough time, they will make it to the first release of my new app.

Please post any suggestions you may have.

PS: I didn’t mention any name, right? That’s because it’s also in the works.

I just uploaded Launch 1.1.

This a minor revision of Launch because i did not receive any bug reports. The changes, while not too many, were introduced to provide more functionality and to improve what was already there.

The most important is that now the main window shows itself in the lower left of your screen, just like the standard Run box dialog of Windows.

Now you can run a file or exit the program by pressing ESC or ENTER, respectively.

The program page has been updated to reflect the new version and release date.

I just finished uploading ServiceTweaker to my server. This is a program to manage Windows services.

It can change the startup type of each service and it can also start or stop them.

I hope you find it useful, and as always, i will appreciate any feedback or comments about it.

Today Launch 1.0 is released. It is the first public release of this program.

With it you can execute, with paramaters if you want, any file type. It is a simple but effective solution to replacing the Run box in the Start Menu of Windows.

I have test it thoroughly before uploading it to make sure everything is working as expected. If you find any error bugs or simply have suggestion on how to make it better, don’t hesitate to send your feedback.

Version History Download

Launch is an application designed to run or execute any type of file. It can pass parameters to the file being executed.

Think of it as a replacement for the Windows Run box in the Start Menu.

It provides support for running new file types such as *.MSU, *.MSP, among others. Launch uses its own process to run files, which means that the file type is not important anymore as long as you have an associated program that can open the files you want to run.

It comes with U3 installer, MSI installer for people who want to put Launch in the context menu and the normal portable exe file.

Some of its characteristics:

• Developed in Visual Basic 2008

Has been tested in Windows 7 (x86), Windows Vista (x86) and Windows XP (x86).

I have just released VistaTweaker 0.5 Beta. The file is already available for download in the download section of this site and i have made a version history page to track down changes and fixes.
