Double Driver is a very simple and useful tool which not only allows you to view all the drivers installed on your system but also allows you to backup, restore, save and print all chosen drivers.

It is very helpful when you need to format or reinstall Windows and you don’t have a disc with the factory drivers. Also, I have saved drivers that Windows Vista or Windows 7 update but the manufacturers don’t have them on their website.

I have tried several applications that can change my wallpaper but many of them were either too complicated and bloated or lacked basic settings.

John’s Background Switcher not only does its job very well, It also can mix images into polaroid shots with a few images or make a collage with some of them. The time intervals are well balanced too.

You can make image sets from images anywhere in your computer, something I like a lot because I can choose which images to add to a set no matter where they are located, or even if the folder they are in contains other kinds of wallpapers.

If you want, it can import images from Flickr, Facebook, Picasa and other similar sites.

For anyone that makes use of environment variables in Windows, Rapid Environment Editor makes adding, editing or deleting them very easy and fast.

You can preview the expanded values right away in the same window, which is very useful for testing variables.

It displays system and user variables separated for better management.

Macrium Reflect Free Edition makes backup images of your hard disks or partitions.

It works very well and the only limitations of the free edition is that you can’t make differential or incremental backups. Only full backups, but it is very useful.

BurnAware is a great burning application that supports almost all the features of major paid-for burning programs. It is, by far, the best free burning application out there.

Version 3.0.x now remember the window size and the columns but every time you run the program, it will still change the Modified Date column and will display an horizontal scrollbar, which is still annoying and totally unnecessary. Hopefully, the developers will fix that in upcoming versions.

Previous 2.x versions don’t have this problem. I will keep using those versions, but I will add a new installer without removing the last one.

MKVToolnix is a set of command line tools to manipulate MKV files. It contains a graphical interface for MKV Merge which lets you edit many features of the matroska container, commonly known as MKV.

With it, you can add or delete video, audio or subtitle streams. You can add or delete chapters, add tags and many more things.

In my custom installer I have included another graphical interface (MKVextractGUI) for a tool called MKV Extract that lets you extract streams contained in an MKV file. However, I recommend using MKVcleaver instead.

I don’t know why Apple keeps releasing silent updates a few days after they release new iTunes versions. This time, iTunes 9.2.1.5 is the updated version.

The new switchless installers are ready to be downloaded.

Remember to install the latest QuickTime Alternative.

Application Support is already included in my installers. If you have an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPod 5G you need to install Mobile Device Support from the original iTunes installer, extracting it with 7-Zip or WinRAR.

This is an excellent tool for disabling startup programs and to see all the things that Windows loads when it starts up.
