For me the new x64 switchless installer is giving an error

“Error during execution Itunes.msi / qb /norestart.The system cannot find the file specified.

I do have qktime alt installed btw.

It would be really useful if you specified what you changed about the installer.
For the iTunes one since it’s probably your most popular I would give some sort of instruction. I hear you have to quicktime installed…True or not?

I’m sorry but I don’t like Nero that much. Also, I would most certainly be violating their license agreement if I modify their installer or application.

Have you tried BurnAware Free or CDBurnerXP? they are very good and free.

First of all THANKS for your work, your custom installers are very useful!

I’d like to know if you have in mind to make customs for Windows Live Wave 4 (English and Spanish).

Wave 4 includes new “Windows Live Messenger 15 BETA”, “Movie Maker” and others.

Seems to be Wave 4 is still keeping .MSI files on PC (C:\program files\common files\.cache) just like Wave 3 did before.

I have Wave 4 installed on my laptop but messenger (the most used app of the suite) has many bugs. This is to be expected as it is the first public Beta.

I plan to make installers for the apps, but I will wait until new versions come out and I can be sure they are working well for most people.

Is there any tutorial or something else in order to do that?

You know, all .cache folder is too big and full of installers, so… would be great to keep just what I really need for both programs.

I haven’t looked into Wave 4 install logic yet but I guess it is still the same.

Thnx for ITunes Installer, ITunes is a piece of sh*t software but required for third party sync with some devices.

Well spoke too fast… install doesn’t work, Apple checks for services and find missing services to recognize the device, windows thinks the sh*tpod is a digital camera… damn I need a zune or somethin..

Most of third-party applications don’t need iTunes to be installed at all in order to sync Apple devices.

About your problem: If you have an iPod Touch, an iPhone or an iPod 5G you need to install Mobile Device Support from the original iTunes installer. Extract it with WinRAR or 7-Zip.

I was wondering if someone could enlighten me, by describing what is “Custome Installer” what it is used for and what are the benifits in using it. Also I would like to know what is “Switchless software” or “Switchless”. I have no idea what it is all about.

I hope someone could tell me something about the above. I would turely appreciate it.

A Custom Installer is exactly that, a modified or a new installer made to fit my needs. The benefits are that I (or others here) can use them to install many freeware applications on a networked or enterprise environment via Group Policy (as they are MSI setups) and also the applications are installed with their settings already configured.

A Switchless installer is an MSI setup (in my case, at least) that can be installed by just executing or double clicking it. There’s no need for user interaction.

It’s automatically downloaded via the update mechanism in the browser. I updated the installer to save time when deploying it.
