I’m finishing some code cleanup before releasing this new application. I wrote it for myself, but as always, i will share my own programs here in my site.
ServiceTweaker will allow you yo control Windows services. You can change the startup type of each one and also you can start or stop them.
Here’s a screenshot of the final version before going public.

I just got the spanish release of Windows XP SP3 and i will slipstream it to update my media. I will post instructions on how to do it, as well as some torrent links to get both english and spanish so you can make your own SP3 discs.
Also, a new release of Tomato is out so i will upgrade my router’s firmware with it.
Besides that, i’m working on a new application that manages Windows services and i will release it soon, maybe in a week or earlier if i finished some code i have left.
Meanwhile, here are some news:

My Belkin wireless router started to give me problems about 15-20 days ago.
After some research i ended buying an old Linksys model, but with many advantages. I will make a post later today to talk about it and the open-source 3rd party firmaware that are out there for a variety of models and makers of wireless routers.

Yesterday i was trying to send a compressed file to a cousin via e-mail. He told that he never got anything on his mailbox. He was using Hotmail and i sent the file using my ISP’s account in Outlook 2007.
After several tries, nothing happened: I didn’t receive any errors on my side and he didn’t got the file.
I tried to re-send it but this time i add my GMail account to the recipients.
I got this error from GMail: 552 5.7.0 Illegal Attachment so i knew GMail blocked the mail because of the attachment.
The problem is that i don’t know if my ISP or Hotmail were blocking the other tries.
I will try to contact my ISP to see if they are blocking because i didn’t receive any error from the mail server.
The compressed file i was trying to send contained a little .exe program along with other text files.
This a new way of blocking, so if you ever need to send an executable file using Gmail or other ISP’s, you will need to change the extension of the .exe files in order to bypass this, even if you compressed them.

I almost finished my roundup of tests for installing Vista unattended. So far so good.
I’m thinking of making a tutorial of those of you who haven’t tried and want to make your own unattended installations. I encountered a guide but honestly it is a little confusing and the part that covers installation of programs and other applications just covered one way and Vista has many ways to achieve the same goal.
Also i’m thinking of this because i want to make an spanish guide for people that doesn’t speak (or at least have problems understanding technical words). This way, if i make an spanish guide, i will write itĀ also in english.
Stay tuned if you are interested.
