There is a new version of Winamp. This media player finally has grown into a great media library manager now that there are many offerings, free or commercial that follows the trend of media libraries instead of the old winamp’s scope to be only a player.

Here’s the description of the Lite and Full versions, which are both free.

A new version of Tomato is available.

Tomato 1.27 fixes a problem with DDNS and the HTTPS service.

This problem is caused by applications that use a very old version Wise Installer. Surprisingly, I’ve seen many programs today that still use it.

When you try to uninstall a program that uses this installer, you get an error windows that says Could not Open Install.Log File and the program is not uninstalled.

To uninstall it, just follow this simple steps:

1. Locate the folder where the program is installed. Normally, this would be C:\Program Files.
2. Inside the folder, cut the file install.log and paste it elsewhere, like your Desktop or a folder.
3. Now run the file uninstall.exe or unwise.exe and it will ask you to manually locate this install.log file.
4. Locate it and the installation will run without any problems.

If you use a non-English version of Windows Vista or Windows 7 and see that your Program Files folder is now displayed in English instead of your language, open a command prompt and run this command: attrib +r “%ProgramFiles%” and reboot your computer.

I’ve seen this happen in Windows Vista Spanish installations.

The new author, Phyxion, changed the whole interface again. I liked the one in 1.5.5, but there is nothing I can do about it .

I use it everytime i want to install new drivers from Realtek, Nvidia, ATI or Creative. This way i narrow the chances of having issues with new drivers because of leftover files from previous versions.

All you have to do is reboot your computer after uninstalling drivers. Then, run Driver Sweeper and select which drivers you want to clean up and reboot again. Now you can install new versions of the drivers.

Open++ adds an entry to the context menu so you can add your own commands for applications or actions you use often.

It has some predefined commands and you can edit them or add your own. It is extremely useful if you need to run applications with parameters or open certain file types with a specific program, among other things.

It has become a personal favorite.

FreeRapid Downloader is an open source application written in Java.

Is a download manager for all major online storage services like Rapidshare, Megaupload, Hotfile and many others.

This application has plugins for this services and they are constantly updated. You copy a link (it has clipboard monitoring), select where to save the files and it takes care of the rest, including waiting times for each service.
