iTunes 8.0.0.35 was released today.
Apple added a feature that some may find interesting, Genius Music Suggestions. Also, there is a new Grid view and HD TV Shows.
Sadly, they keep releasing iTunes with QuickTime, MobileMe, Bonjour and Software Updater. I’m out of town but this weekend i will modify the original installer to get rid of that. I will add it to my custom installers as soon as i can.

For me I quite itunes because it’s convient to organize my music files, and the album look is cool. But I don’t want 5or more processes loading in windows just for listening to a mp3. So I really appreciate your work of itunes lite. Hoping you can finish the new edition soon!
Truly yours
I’m already modifying the installers. I will post the new builds this weekend.
If you want to try a really great free music player/library manager full of features and great interface, search for J. River Media Jukebox.
This is what i use everyday. I open iTunes every now and then only to update my iPod’s firmware.
Thanks for your recommendation! I’ll try it.
No problem. You won’t get disappointed with Media Jukebox.
I modified the installer thanks to Orca, intalled QTA 2.7.0 and iTunes, but this message appears:
“The itunes application could not be opened. a required iTunes component is not installed. Please repair or reenstall Quicktime (-42404)”
As you say for QTA 2.7.0:
Note: Currently, QuickTime Alternative 2.7.0 is not compatible with iTunes 8. A solution will be available soon, don’t worry.
Do you think you can solve this problem or we just have to wait for a new QTA compatible with iTunes 8?
Hi max.
That problem is either iTunes or QTA fault. There is no way i can tell which. However, i’m trying to pinpoint the cause.
Meanwhile, we have to wait for a new QTA version that may solve this. As the authors stated, there is a compatibility issue.
Hopefully it will be solved soon.
Any progress on this yet?
Yes, a solution is now available. You can download the QTA 2.7.0, and then install the iTunes plugin compatibility:

The add-on works fine.
The new iTunes Switchless Installers are ready to download.
