The past two days were filled with information and rumors about a browser called Chrome, made by Google.
While the details were vague and speculative, today Goggle released the first Beta version of Chrome.
Here is an entry of the official Google blog that explains it in great detail.
The interface is really minimalistic, but I’m not sure if this will appeal to the majority of web surfers because we are all used to have extensibility and a plethora of features to count on in current web browsers.
However, maybe this can work as a bare-bones browser, at least, in this stage.
I tried to run install it but the setup didn’t launch at all. I guess i got maybe a bogus file or something. Will try later to re-download again.

it’s funny, the more i use Chrome (for windows), the more unstable it seems to get… crashes a lot more, can’t handle sites with flash, hangs every time i close a tab… all that to say, i’m switching back to Firefox
I don’t see the point of Google making a browser other than to collect surfing habits and statistics.
Chrome is really buggy and lacks many many features of the more established browsers like Firefox, Opera or IE.
