HD Tune is a freeware utility designed to benchmark the speed of hard disk drives.

It can show the current temperature of each drive as well as S.M.A.R.T.

You can use it to evaluate the speed of your hard disks. I use it to test the impact of antivirus and some antispyware software to see which one has more impact on performance in my systems. Also i test sometimes the speed of RAID arrays.
