@Mark Hi Mark. The problem with deleting files is that many of applications like the ones from Adobe use the FLEXNet licensing service, which is for a totally different purpose. I would suggest you don't delete them to avoid having problems. Using the Software Updates Manager Uninstall will remove it and disable it from starting up with Windows.

Another note:

I found another folder:

C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet\

It contained three files whose names relate to adobe. It just so happens that my Adobe Acrobat Professional has been defunct since I noticed this scourge (creating .PDFs no longer working). I’m renaming these files to see what happens.

I searched on ISUSPM and located this:

C:\ProgramData\Macrovision\FLEXnet Connect\6\

This (hidden) folder contains several .dll and .exe files related to this annoyance. They were still there after running the removal tool. Removed them; hopefully this is the end of it.

Tony, I didn’t pretend to misinform or something.

As InstallShield calls it uninstaller, I didn’t check if it was indeed removed or disabled. As running the “uninstaller” disables its startup entry and service, there is no need to keep worrying (or getting annoyed) about it, which is the main reason I wrote this article.

Thanks for letting us know that it isn’t removed, just disabled.

The article should clearly state that the “uninstaller” merely disables the software.
The authors statement “Now you will have it removed from your system.” is false.

Pls note: you should reboot after that, because the system event log is filling up with errors.
